The Glance (For Donna) Poem by Danny Draper

The Glance (For Donna)

If I had never looked
And you had never seen
The longing hinted instant
Those moments sometimes glean,
And turned away unknowing
Ending great a scene
Shining in our separate spheres
Lives from each unseen,
Denying a faint chance of us
‘Remote possibility of we
Hand of fate and circumstance
Never you and me,
Love of my life
I could have missed
Or with another
Been just so blessed,
But cherish the day
You caught my eye
And came to love
What you did see.
