The Girl On The Bike Poem by Santhanagopalan Vasudevan

The Girl On The Bike

Riding my bike on a random day,
I notice another, ahead on the way
Driven by an attractive girl well dressed;
From a little behind, I'm easily impressed.

All of a sudden, from there starts a chase
Just to have a look at her face.
Will it be as pretty as my mind's eye shows?
Will it atleast be half as close?

In the clusters of traffic, she is lost and found
But always within my sight she's bound.
The chase however seems adventurous,
But reaching her could well turn dangerous
When my eyes would no longer be on the road
It would only be better that I rode
With her seated in my bike, behind;
With no longer, anyone to go behind.

I hope she never becomes someone I obsess,
This attractive girl called success.
