The Girl

The melancholy disarray
That grows inside my head each day
Is caused by one consummate girl
Who brightens my entire world
For shadows spring behind the light
Which turn a black more dark than night
With doubt and dread that she won’t see
The man she wants is really me.

Provided it do hopeless—hang—
That—"Heaven" is—to Me!
