The Foundling And The Mothers Reasons

The Foundling

Where are you mum?
Why without me did you leave?
Did life become too much,
Or was the reason just me,

Did you ever love me?
Are feeelings for me still there?
Do I have your features?
Or the same colour hair,

Do I remind you of dad?
Was he a one night stand?
Or when you gave birth to me,
Was he there to hold your hand,

Did he promise to stand by you?
Or did he run away and hide,
Are you still with him?
Did you become his bride?

Have you ever tried to find me?
For with me you left a letter,
'Please look after this little one' it said
Till my life is better,

Well I am now an adult,
And still no sign is there of you,
But I still want you here to tell me,
That you really loved me true,

I could never hate you mum,
For you gave me my life,
But the pain of never meeting you,
It cuts me like a knife,

So I am pleading to you now,
Will you please just get in touch,
For though you left me in the park,
I think you loved me very much

The Mothers Reasons

I am not far away child,
My heart is closer than you know,
For reasons beyond my control, .
Forced me to let you go,

I was a single mother,
Though your father he did care,
But my parents did not approve,
It was too much for us to bare,

So we ran away to London,
Far away from all we knew,
And it was on the streets,
Where I gave birth to you,

But living on the streets,
Is no life for a child thats true,
So I left you in the park,
And watched, until someone found you,

You had your fathers blue eyes,
And my dark curly hair,
A cute little button nose,
And skin that was so fair,

We married years later,
For our love it was true,
And the only thing it lacked,
Was, We did not have you,

We never had more children,
You could never be replaced,
For we will never forget our child,
And how we left her in that place,

So wherever we may travel,
And whatever we may do,
We stare at every single face,
.And wonder, Is that YOU
