The Final 'No.' Poem by Majid Zubedi

The Final 'No.'

Rating: 5.0

You ever came to me, 'cause we were friends;
You were my only pal, on this whole land.
We were unknown, about the selfishness;
All the time we shared our happiness.
Even then we were not reached in our teens;
Our inner feelings were crystal like clean.
You didn't have any companion in your family;
Whenever you felt loneliness you came to me.
You, me and my cousins, we all lived in harmony;
Here you had found a great company.
You came to me, undoubtedly I was your friend;
Or it was, 'cause of my fun-land?

I called your friendship as my good-luck;
Whenever you needed, I lent you some bucks.
How could I say you 'No', after all we're friends;
I really wanted to do, what was in my hands.
Every day and night, spent like a stream;
When we reached, in the age of our teens.
And you fell-in love with your sweet-heart;
Now our days were spending around the apparel-mart.
You needed a protection, whenever met her;
And were afraid by her another lover.
Naturally you came to me, our friendship was true;
Or my good-physique and strength attracted you.

We did not meet, for so many years;
You're traveling in Rome and Paris, when I wanted you near.
I was waiting, even for your letter;
But you liked to enjoy, every moment with her.
After a long time, when you came to me;
Your presence made me so much happy.
But it was shocking, what I had to see;
Your face was pale and you became skinny.
But you shocked me so much more, when I knew;
After some chitchat, I was disappointed by you;
Because you had just lost your blind-romance;
Then your loneliness reminded, my remembrance.

You said, 'Now I am all alone;
If you could give me some loan'.
In my life, the seasons were so rainy;
Because I've lost, even my last penny.
After long hesitation, finally I said 'No';
And thence you became my only foe.
Now you are revealing, all my secrets;
And I am the only one, whom you hate.
I want to say, since you've become my enemy;
The other side of the coin, now I can see.
You were not, but a friend of mine;
A difference between friends and foes, who defines.

Oh this so much deep, heartfelt and honest write...its hard to decide right, Majid...I understand this feeling, when someone changed by age of time, be back again when need us around, forgotten when we not needed sometimes...its hard to say No but we always never hard to say Yes to forgive, yet in heart who knows that when we so broken, no one ever listened...i am glad you find in self what you should reply..friend or foe they decide but for us we remain the same.logical_Soul
