The Fight Poem by Dan Barrett

The Fight

Just open your eyes this isn't the end
You do have the strength, you can contend
Everyday is a battle, just keep pushing through
Sometimes you feel lost, even helpless too
Everything is spinning, falling out of control
Wondering why you are here, what is your role
Stop take a minute perhaps take a few
There is no limit to the good you can do
You think you don't matter, won't be missed
That there is not one person who can assist
You out of this hole, and into the light
You need to be strong, and put up a fight
There is more in this world than you and your pain
There is so much beauty, so much to gain
The road isn't easy, but you can smooth it out
And learn how to find the best possible route
