The Festival Of Lights Poem by Vijay Sai R

The Festival Of Lights

Stories aplenty
God taming evils
One such narration
Is Lord Krishna
Taming Narakasura
The dangerous devil
Threatening to kill humans
Repenting at the moment of death
The devil requesting the Lord
May his demise
Be celebrated at the least
A sign of forgiveness
The Lord granting him the boon
The day the devil was put to rest
Be celebrated as Deepavali
Every year
At this time
All around our motherland
People celebrate Deepavali
The Festival of Lights
Sharing sweets
Lighting fire crackers
Wearing new dresses
Exchanging love
Spreading harmony
Let us pray
Let peace be there
Not only this day
But everyday!

What a vivid illustration and message. Such things join us together, A positive message that needs to be celebrated. Some cultures and societies are wastelands without direction and their people suffer through this lack of a unifying positive force. Not so here, tradition, love, harmony and peace are the pillars and the glad people smile because of it.........splendid and inspirational 10+++
