The Feline Poem by Jessica Newby

The Feline

Rating: 5.0

A shiny coated servant obeys her orders
From her luminous master in the navy night sky.

Graceful leaps of excitement, accidentally crush
Each petrified pebble of prey.

Sinking her jagged jaws into the cliffs,
She etches each cave into a mystical masterpiece.

Conniving claws lash out to the beat of the wind,
Tossing her foamy spray at the reeling rocks.

A lapping tongue unfolds - back and forth,
Cleansing the glamourous gown of rocks.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is a metaphoric poem about the sea, where she is portrayed as a feline.
