The fate of a country
Depends on the collective action
Of its people.
Power rests on the governed
And not on those to whom
Power to administer is granted.
We, the people must utilize
this power to its fullest extent
For our children
And children's children.

The fate of a country Depends on the collective action Of its people.....yes; exactly written; not only a country but also the healthy of the whole universe depends on our activities; The way we treat nature, the nature will give us same all back; it's time we need to change ourselves into good for our future generation....
If we exercise our power of franchise rationally and prudently, we can topple down a govt. run by people who misuse power. To have a high rate of political awareness is essential for us. A great poem reminding us of the need for a conscientious use of rights and responsibilities!
Responsible citizenship is the key for the advancement of any country! Power rests in the hands of the people who elect people to power and not on the elected.Unfortunately we are under the impression that authority is wielded by people at the helm of affairs.
A well balanced observation, clear and insightful reminder to those that in theory the real power of a democratic nation is in the hands of people. This is a prophecy as it is a poem, I just wish people were wiser and these words would be wider understood by more people! . Great job Rose Marie!
Remaining free is the people's great responsibility. If we too become corrupt, the game is over. So we must protect our freedom at all cost, above all for future generations. So well said and realized in just a few lines. The true conception of Liberty so very well conveyed.

The fight to be governed properly is never ending. Most countries only know Democracy as a word, of what should be but is not. This wonderful poem so well illustrates the constant vigilance and fight it is to maintain Democracy, if lucky enough to even have it. A poem just and with great depth and teaching.
