The Enchantress Poem by Babatunde Idowu Ebenezer

The Enchantress

If God gave me a chance
To chose only one thing
That would be granted to me instantly,
I would chose you!

Your radiance reminds me of an early morning sun;
Bright and calm.
Your words bring wisdom
That quench my thirst for knowledge.
You are the missing piece in my jigsaw puzzle.

Come let us sing till daybreak
Of love and hope.
Let us talk of a glorious future
That awaits us like mother for her school children.

Come and show me where the whiteness of your teeth ends.
Come and sing lullaby for me to lull me to sleep
And put me out of this mystery of wanting you.
Tell me the meaning of your name,
And I would make poems out of it.

Last night, I saw you in my dreams
You were an enchantress in my dreams
You said some words and my heart melted
And when I woke up, it was still melted.

Oh come and let us sit under the mango tree
And talk and talk without an end.
So this pain of wanting you would cease
And my heart would be at peace.
Come and transform my life to heave on earth!
