The Dream Poem by Osvaldo Roman Cerda

The Dream

Rating: 4.8

It creeps and creeps
In your sleep to get those dreams
Those dreams that no mortal has ever dared to dream
To come up and haunt and destroy that lasting beam
That beam of live that soars in your stream

It weeps and weeps
In your stream of dreams which is a slight blue
A blue of the sky in your dream that creeps in its hue
The fish of night and of day swim to the dream like its due
Though only if only the dreamer had a clue

It flees and flees
That clue which swims in its stream about to flitter away
The dream, the stream, the beam, the fish, the sky all fade in the may
The dreamer’s clue is lost by the awaking day
Never to know what the stream in the dream had up its Fay
