The Devil's Boredom Poem by Asma Khan

The Devil's Boredom

Another day had passed in this wait
so many hopes standing at your closed gate

The sun comes down to waking me up
and I begin a marathon on a run up

I await for you in moments and hours
till my eyes become dusty and dried like flowers

Are you gifted to me or given?
whatever way, I want to be choosen

Pour some sunshine over to me
take this loneliness and set me free

It's hard to bear this pain
when you have to lose what you gain

Fill my heart with empty space
where I need no one to chase

If only for once can we embrace?
Forget the reasons, no borders, no base

Don't price the passion of my heart
You won't find anyone like me even if you want

Let your heart choose for you
Even in deep blues, it comes true

I wonder if passion was to be killed and buried
for all my pains, that I ever carried

Don't be surprised to know if I still love you
I would have washed my memory, if only how I knew!
