The Depths Of Despair Poem by Liam Hughes

The Depths Of Despair

Rating: 3.8

in the depths of despair one looks upon himself
and sees himself as he truly is.
none of the masks linger upon his face.
all the deceit and lies dissapear without a trace.

in the wallows of solitude one tries to find a reason.
searching desperatly for an answer.
there are no veils to hide what is true.
all thats left is what you believe you should do.

when peering from this position
you try to understand where you are heading.
is this a road that you want to take.
do you truly understand what is at stake.

the hardest thing that you have to deal with
is you don't have an answer.
it is not within your sight.
should you turn left or turn right.

is there an end is there a beginning.
is there a start is there a finnish.
should I go left should I go right.
is that the end within my sight?

More pertinent to me, personally, than any other poem I could read at this time - thank you, poet.

To be drown into a despair, and in such depths can be so lost and hope seems disappear, but i am sure there will be some way we can go back to normal level, it just require lot of things to be done....and maybe more time to get well return to our side, i feel the stroke of paintbrush in your poetry, the emotion goes here and there telling story..just stay positive at the moment, it is the only thing that make you float from drowning, and try to figure out and get help if you could do...but one thing you should always remember, the strongest thing that nobody cant break is to know yourself and your own strength that you never know you have! Good luck!

Hi Liam, Lynn Petty here. I am sorry to not have read more of your works but, I have been encapsulated within a 4X7 feet long tube called hyperbaric for 40 treatments, two hours per day. Now, your poetry. This is wonderful poem about one's despair, of course, but I would like to see some resolution to the problem. I am left wondering what happened to the person. I cannot see, from your works, you are talking about yourself. Well created and well written. Lynn

I think Lynn he will get well, just like some people life can be little problem while some have it so terrible, i guess test coming depend on how strong we are and we never know the strength in our hands, we may leave fall down or if we could search what it is we can be like warrior to protect ourselves....for sure hope is what i refer as a small bright dot, even it is a little, its big enough for us to get courage and to expand the positive chance.. When i read your comment i feel like you are a strong person and bright as well..Hope you recover well and always be great in life, stay cool and positive!

A lovely piece of writing. Beautifully portrayed despair that we so often go through in life. The reader can perfectly relate. Enjoyed reading.
