We were naive and there once was limitless hope
As we patiently waited for the tardy sunshine;
But as the morning sun kissed the horizon scope
All hope gradually replaced itself with limitless doom.
And so we no longer wait for the sunshine,
We do not entertain any hope these days
Because we all know things will never be fine.
And unlike the discarded hope and the sunshine
The ills of kismet do not hesitate to come our way.
