The Daydream Poem by Annalee Somerville

The Daydream

I try to live the way I dream
but then reality hits me deep,
head imploding with silent screams
of what was and will never be.

I had a dream of the ocean
the waves hypnotized my mind,
filling me with unbelievable peace
and love of self for the first time.

That is how the story goes
when you find spiritual wealth,
you let go of all that damaged you
learning to love and believe in yourself.
