The Dancer I Can't Forget (Dedicated) Poem by Russel Grawols

The Dancer I Can't Forget (Dedicated)

A sweet girl
Innocent and Curious
She spoke like a textbook
Yet I found myself intrigued

She spoke softly but passionately
Her cool soft eyes
I knew I was never ignored
Found myself never bored

If we did, we'd seek adventure
Talk for the longest hours
She was certainly something
A girl who ventures

She danced away the nights
it seemed so nice
She twirled into her dreams
she was at peace

When we parted
Did we ever truly?
At first, both faint hearted
Yet overtime, the bond stood

This dancer remains within my mind
She's one of the lights I can find
She was unsure of me
Whether it was smart to hold

yet
I still speak to her today
none of the memories have faded away
Neither will she
a spirit who is free

She tips her hat on the stage
Leaving the place where she's not caged
Finding few things that intrigue her
I do my best to have her spirit stir

I see a fire in her eyes
and I hear passion behind that voice
I'm willing to simply advise
Her every foot step if needed

I've listened and watched
And I've admired and thought
That dancer in my mind
designed to stand the test of time
May her story not end
I'll never truly forget
The dancer that I met
