The Dance Of Life Poem by Pedro Cescon

The Dance Of Life

(Inspired by the wonderful 'Crash Test Dummies', by Sinfull at poetfreak. The quartet saying 'He said my dance was, an uneasy truce, between gravity, and the will to fly', is Sinfull's and her's only)

She pointed at the skies,
And from watering eyes,
Peering at the blue,
Out of my disguise,
Of being simply 'you',

I saw that it took,
More than I assumed,
For how we should look,
And how much we have presumed,

And for each and every move
From the ashes and debris,
How fragile, I could see,
Our clumsy steps could be,

She whispered times,
In my head,
She weaved dreams,
I never had,

She said my dance was
an uneasy truce
between gravity
and the will to fly

I say our dance is
A fated bond
Between birth
And the need to die
