The Dance Poem by Spiritwind Wood

The Dance

Rating: 5.0

As I was walking one day
on some trail long forgotten
I looked out in the distance
and watched a ghost
of an Indian appear
as others followed behind him
then I heard the drums play
through the wind softly
and they started to dance

The closer I drew near
thier song and images
only became more clear
the first, who was the most wise
he stopped but only for a moment
and with wisdom in his eye's
turned and looked at me
and this is what he said

We dance this dance forever
for those days still ahead
for days of peace and balance
that one day all live in harmony
as one creation together
the way we once lived back then

This is great, it somewhat reminds me of a song by one of my favorite musical artist, Robert Mirabal, he is an American Indian from New Mexico. Very good poem.
