The Damned Poem by Marea Johnson

The Damned

Rating: 4.6

Disillusion
mass confusion
Preacher makes
his grand intrusion.

Borrowed faith
with buried lies
Steeples crumble
from the sky.

Holy books
with altered verses
Bound with all
their evil curses.

Sacred blood
from slaughtered beasts
Chosen hosts
for demons' feast.

Lonely searchers
in the dark
All brand themselves
with satan's mark.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I don't even have to go in depth with my comment to say that your message is undeniably true, and this is from an outspoken agnostic as opposed to an atheist. Buried lies, bounds to ancient scripture, hypocrites and the inwardly blind... just a couple negatives carved on the slate that is religion.

hypocrisy you will always see, it is part of humanity. the devil has his share, but with the LORD you can't compare. this poem is good for the people who belive in ATHEISM. and if a person goes to church just to see which people snicker, then they are no better than them.(this is just my opinion) but you do bring across a point so well. i still give it a ten.

OH This is simply beautiful, and sooooooooooooo very true too. This is exactly why I don't go to a formal church anymore. I am just tired of the borrowed faith with the buried lies. The hipocrites all flock to the church on Sunday and just ooo and ahhh over how everyone is dressed. And they look at you out of the corner of their eyes going tsk tsk tsk. Hipocrites, the church is full of them from the pulpit to the pews. This is a strong poem of truth that the so-called Christians don't want to hear, but know it is the truth. A 10+++++ and thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara

The way I pictured this poem is so darkness and scary. Well I hope you can come up with more of it. **James Wilhoite II**
