The Daily Record. Poem by THE HOLY POET

The Daily Record.

Will The Daily Ranger change its name, now its sporting parent's dead
Of course, I meant The Daily Hun, 'Rangers'' mate in bed
Let's speak about their journalists, the most delusional of fans
They're only guys who copy/paste from other rags at hand.
They always have exclusives, now that's something we all hate
They're from un-named brother's girlfriend's sister's brother's mate!
What about James Traynor, he's not right in the head
He thinks the oldco's still alive, so just sleeps on in bed
Dreaming of the halcyon days and juicy succulent lamb
When all he ever buys himself are the choicest cuts of spam.
One reporter there was Graham Spiers but he's not been seen for ages
Did he dig too deep; is he afraid, are they holding back his wages?
Lastly there's wee Keith Jackson, a man who knows his wealth
But Radars and wee Keefy boy, are bad for others' health
When he says his wealth is off the radar, it really means he's skint
I'll bet he rues the day he rushed, that saying into print!
That's the Daily Record folks! And that's one thing they can't do
They're journalists who can't record, they haven't got a clue.
They've been very quiet recently in relation to the rest
but to Sevco, quoted every word, do they think they're still the best?
try to keep with what's going on and follow every team
you can Follow Follow all you want but Hail Hail rules supreme
we're the club to follow, we are champions elite
we don't own tainted titles and proud that we don't cheat
I could go into religion, politics or race
Let's face it Daily Record, your paper's a disgrace.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is a hoot of apoem....I workedf for over 16 years for Gannett Co./U.S.A. TODAY, and though I was involved in the Circulation/Transportation/Publishing & Distribution end as opposed to Editorial or beat reporting...thge only difference between your pen-gem & my experiences in nthe Newspaper Industry...are the names of the inane drones! Solid Penning, indeed! ~FjR~
