The Courtship Of Opposites Poem by Jennifer Hartman

The Courtship Of Opposites

Like some deranged goddess
Given up order for chaos
The temple for the jungle
I'd dash through the thick with you
Naked and unabashed
Aphrodite meets the Amazons
Is how I feel

The Classic crashes to a ruin
The foundations shaken by clashing emotions
Give up ground to the Modern
Expressions leave us vulnerable
Violence transforms us powerful
Passion...influential

Tantalized to a frenzy
Struck to a spark
Is what you do to me
I sweat lavender
And roses
You still don't notice

Amidst disarray of inspiration
I reveal myself to you
Time tossed out of equilibrium
Unravels your labyrinth of lies for me
Uncovers twists and turns to your psyche
That have no stability
So the pedulum of time and truth
Demolishes your pretenses and deceits

All you've fabricated, reduced to rubble
All you'd put on
Strips you as naked in shame
As I've been in honesty

Swept on by the flow of justice
I return to normalcy
Enriched by our experiences
Invigorated by their madness
Relieved to have them done with
