The Circle In The Moon Poem by Asma Khan

The Circle In The Moon

The circle in the moon
is bright and charming
My life in a living body
is sealed in a dark room
where emotions froze when
my story was told

The spring was pale and lifeless
with no colours in the universe
ever to see anywhere around
My life's fragrance was
rented from unperfumed flowers
to unbosomed dreams

The days were dull and passed
without any count for there is
no tomorrow or another day
My life was turning into
an unwritten book of restless memories
where dreams forgot the
path to my very eyes

The candle reflected darkness
of the eyes of a child
who was yet to discover the beauty
of himself but no more
My life was under the shadow of
this reflection to find out the way
to enlighten the darkness

The lost light didn't stop the urge
to grow but to envelope the one illuminates it
My life became a purpose to lit
the unseen glow that shined upon me
shading the colours of spring
bright and light to overcome the darkness
in my path

In fact, I sought it was with me
who was always there within me
the circle in the moon
was in my eyes!
