The cat masks
In times our memories,
Worth more than galaxies.
This is one, let us read.
In Tehran's Laleh-zar,
An alley is Mehran.
I was child, schoolboy,
Hard worker, a proud,
Trained to hate asking,
Had to earn by working.
Bought a box of the masks,
Made wearer look like cats.
Sat by wall like vendors,
Opened box, then declared:
"The cat masks are against
Mosquitos and insects..."
With my words, I had fun,
Some people came to buy.
Box contained one dozen,
Used my math and figured,
Selling half, I would earn
All amount that had paid.
Came to me young couple,
Took a mask and handed
Paper bill; needed change.
Could not find, so, returned,
They told me: "keep the rest."
Their kindness, that smile
Shall not, and never died.
Memory has remained:
"Must do same to others."
