The Budding Spring Poem by Elizabeth Padillo Olesen

The Budding Spring

It was cold and icy
long span of winter
that made me shiver.

It was long winter
we longed for the sun
but the snow kept on raining.

But then the sunny spring
is awakened like buds
of the flowers unfolding.

Here we face the sun
here we feel the warmth
and see that indeed spring has come.
