The Chilling Wind Poem by Elizabeth Padillo Olesen

The Chilling Wind

Rating: 4.5

And he leaves her
in silence, without any word -
just the cold silence
that leaves a chilling wind.

And he closes the door
as if no one is left behind;
starts the motor of the car
and disappears from her sight.

The chilling wind
makes her shiver in the cold
The chilling silence fills the house
and floods her heart with tears.
