The Bridge We Built Together (A Sonnet Dedicated To President Bill Clinton) Poem by Lester J. De Los Santos

The Bridge We Built Together (A Sonnet Dedicated To President Bill Clinton)

Rating: 2.8

We'll cross the bridge together,
Made not of stone, of steel neither.
A bridge of love, of noble minds;
A bridge that spans, a bridge that binds.
A bridge that stands the storms of time-
The perils of life, the poverty of dime.
A bridge that, in darkness, beacons
A refuge of freedom for coming generations.
A bridge we'll cross without fear
Of falling down or tripping over,
For each one masons the strong foundation-
One God, one motto, one destination.

A bridge that trusses the Lands of the free
To keep a-burning the flame of liberty.
