The Bird Cried Poem by Gary Hembree

I heard a bird cry for its mom
It fell from the nest
For hours it cried
As other birds flew by
It seemed this bird
Was meant to die
For the mother never came
Nature has a funny way
Of dealing with what stays
Or what goes
But thats how nature rolls
I turned the news on
To hear that a child
Was left to die in the heat
Or a missing teen was found working the streets
I think to my self
God sure does have a funny way
Of showing love to his children
Yet people still praise him
Yes nature does what needs to be done
While mankind does it for fun.
