The Betrayal Poem by Patrick Villareal

The Betrayal

</> Being led to fall, I follow the set path blindly
Covering a great distance on the gravel road I move lightly
Believing I would be safe and well kept
Not realizing I was the target, the one he was to intercept
The one to fall for his own personal gain
The one who could easily be deceived, The one to go down in vain
Pushing me into the rapid water flow, I am unable to recuperate
Drowning in the dark and bleak water, he leaves me to my gruesome fate
As I lose consciousnesses below the blue waters, I manage to see
My own flesh and blood, standing over the edge, putting an end to me
