The Best I Ever Knew Poem by Ray Hansell

The Best I Ever Knew

Rating: 5.0

With you I need no defense
With you I don't need pretense
When you and I are alone
We can call that place home
Rivers rush to the sea
I feel your love rush over me
All my past fears are gone
Ever since you came along
I could see from the start
That you would capture my heart
You are a woman so strong and true
In fact the best woman I ever knew

Ray, you are posting some truly beautiful and touching love poetry! This one is quite good- - how well do I understand the importance of being free to be one's self, and of two people creating their own private world- - the stuff that love is made of! Reminds me of my poems 'I'm a lucky duck' and 'Mister Special.' Please keep them coming. Such beauty & romance from the pen of a man! (Saving this one to favourite poems)
