The Awakening Poem by Esperanza Medina

The Awakening

Rating: 5.0

The smell of autumn afternoon scent unwinds my body
I can feel the wind stimulate each part of me
The fresh but warm breeze brings goose bumps
To my soul
My body pulsing with a craving that only one
Can give me
My heart is beating as I see from a far the one I
Desire
I try to control my body but my devious heart
Rebels against me
As he gets closer my body shivers into desire
I imagine the touch, smell and warmth of his soul
Next to mine
Finally, his semblance is delicate but pleasing to
My soul, my heart, and eyes
I awaken to the swing of the hammock
The undeniable but chimera somehow
Roused a demon that I have put to rest
I must find him and have him to put my
Soul, mind, and heart at ease
