Defeat Poem by Esperanza Medina

Defeat

Rating: 4.5

Yes, the stick came out positive
My heart has never felt such warmth
The first time I heard her heart beat
My heart has never felt such warmth
The first time I felt her little limbs kick me
My heart has never felt such warmth

Third month and my body was hurting
Following week the hospital was my home
My heart and mind were averting
My body still ached and the hospital was still my home

Sorry miss your baby has no chance
I will be hopeful until the end
Sorry miss your baby has no chance
I will fight until the end
Sorry miss your baby has no chance
I will pray until the end

Five months I feel hopeful
Five months I feel scared
Five months I must be strong
Five months Sorry miss your baby passed

My heart has never felt such pain
My body has never felt such pain
Tears flow, my mouth shivers, my body trembles
I have never felt defeat

The miscarriage of the foetus was inevitable even though you tried your utmost best. Just remember that GOD GIVETH AND ALSO GOD TAKETH. A sad poem, well articulated and nicely penned. Thanks for sharing and remain blessed. Please read my poem THE PHOENIX STRANGLER.
