The Assailants Labyrinths Poem by Michael Oluwasegun Adesiji

The Assailants Labyrinths

While you await the show
Of my shameful end
Like a dough,
Upon a well-bleached oil
I will bounce to radiate
In beautiful colors again.

While you plot my ruin
To bring my doom
To lay me a seat
Upon a foiled guest room

Like a hummingbird,
I will make you hear
The whirring sounds
Of my classy flaps
The finessed stunts
Of my flying crafts.

Like a wildfire
Bustling in the splendour of its rage,
I will reign like rain.
At the nearest second to my capture
Like a falcon in distress,
I will soar
In the swiftness of light

Till you go to bed
All you will see
Is my rainbow spiced
Mornings of pleasure
Not my gloomy nights
Of mockery and total displeasure

Like the undying warrior that I am,
My towel,
Will never find the ring
As my staggers will remain swags
In the guise of the undying strength
Of a Spring.

Like liquor,
In the hands of the drunk
So is my success through my watch
If it makes you sad and restless
Then, I need to make this clear

To you,
A nightmare;
My downfall will ever remain.
