Thomas Eliot could have learned
More in a life time what Shakespeare
Benefited from Plutarch and the tales
And myth taken from ancient Greek writers.
There are molehills laying
Beneath the foot of mountains,
And beneath the work of all poets
The voices of thousand men whispering,
But which a poet fashion out in different pattern
Yet pointing like a Roman sword toward common themes
Or like water moving in cyclical pattern from earth
To the sky and back to earth in various forms.
