That Man Who Lived! ! Poem by sumeet mehta

That Man Who Lived! !

Its a lonely place..this world
The renunciate’s chant such all the time
Tht ur love can never be incessant
Ur loved ones wither away with time

Am a stone hearted mammal
Or so I believed for ages
Bt i miss my grandpa nw
Understand the chanting of sages

I wanted to dedicate a rhyme
Cause i like to think about him
Lionize his great qualities
Till the book was filled to brim

Bt it’s been months since he left
Have written nothing so far
Cause the moment I think of him
Am drawn away to our larks

He was a jolly good man
With his blood, virtues twined
Was strict in his discipline
To others he was kind

He had sense of humor
He laughed all the time
Yeah a little short on hearing
We would interact through mime

He was an inspiration
The most humane u’d ever met
The embodiment of serenity
His eyes could slay all fret

He was a man of principles
Stayed strong on his ethics
Gave morals as inheritance
And holy prayers for music

Wish u all had met him alive
Seen his slow walk...heard his affectionate cry’s
And his symbolic hi-coughs...sounding like wind chimes

I often find him around
Patting on my head
My eyes then cling to light
Trying hard to locate his tread

But I awaken alone
Feeling eerie and forlorn

And I start drowning in the memory streams
Guess that’s what they call sweet dreams
