That I Would Not Die Poem by Ontomu William

That I Would Not Die

Oh Lord, that I would not die and see the grave!
They cry many who are afflicted with life
And its mishaps, "Oh Lord! Would that you take us! "
Yet I cry otherwise Lord! that I would not die and see the grave!

I want to grow old with my dog and the wife of my youth
That I married to fulfill scripture and fill the earth
I want to live to a full ripe age like Abraham and see no decay
Or old age Like Jesus the father of many

As much as I want to see you, I feel there is yet more to do
And many places to go and many lives to live
Many laughters to laugh, many friends to make and cut
And many decisions to make and regret

Oh Lord, If you are looking for someone to change
The world and make it a better place to live
And build the New Earth with you, I take the challenge!
This world you built in your wisdom is so sweet irregardless,
Its full of love, regrets, betrayal, revenge and lessons!
I am always left in suspense, leaving me with the question
‘What's going to happen next! Now this is what motivates me
Waiting for what will happen NEXT!
Oh! that I would not die and see the grave
To see what this evil world will bring my way
As I dance my way through, I know I will one day
Overcome………NEXT! ! ! ! !
Suspense
