That Awkward Moment Poem by Sebenzile Mamba

That Awkward Moment

The moment I see you
The cards in my lap
automatically get flipped up,
The glass of wine in my hand
summersaults and get spilled
on the carpet,
The figure belt on my waist gets
too tight and bursts.

The moment I see you
My tables overturns and turn into a dance floor
in my heart...where only you and me can dance
You become the fireball of the party in my mind.
You step on my feelings such that I feel nothing except
for your caressed words.

All that I want and wish is to feel normal and see
things as they are even when you come around.
