To the boy who made me realise
I might want someone like him.
To the boy who teased me mercilessly
even though I was infatuated.
To the boy who chose someone else
then stopped talking to me.
To the boy who showed me
how to love and how to hurt.
To the boy I never loved
but probably should have.
To the boy who reminded me
that I could really be happy.
To the boy who stayed my friend
when I had no love to give.
To the boy who taught me
that some boys take advantage.
To the boy who proved to me
after all the others, I will still care.
To the boy who comes next
who leaves the rest for dead.
To the boy who comes after him
and puts me back together again.
