Terror Threat Poem by Roann Mendriq

Terror Threat

Living in a threat of terror,
fills my heart with heavy dread;
and anger at such human error,
that screams for more bloodshed.

I sit in trundling, crowded trains,
and shut my eyes in quiet prayer;
Listening to the grim refrains,
that warn of traps set to ensare.

Check beneath your empty seats!
Don't trust a perfect stranger!
Be alert upon the streets!
Beware of every danger!

It rains and pours with weeping skies,
for such tragedies obscene;
Do not dare to meet a strangers eyes,
lest you're blown to smithereens.

And as I plead, against attack,
I glance towards my left;
A lady prays in silken black
as frightened and bereft..

In front of us, Rudraksha beads
are counted to the score;
As we pray, the train proceeds,
and we just pray some more.

What warped and twisted mind decrees,
that man must kill his brother? ?
It's time the world went on its knees,
to pray for one another.
