Terrarium! Poem by Malabika Ray Choudhury

Terrarium!

Rating: 5.0

bought an alluring Terrarium from the supermarket!
simply a circular glass jar, adorned with green and purple shrubs - cradled charming nature...
fell in love the moment it caught my eyes!

my dad would say - my darling girl! this is your dainty little treasure - from a supermarket!
you were dancing around a garden full of gleaming glistening radiant flowers,
in your pristine childhood, beside a sprawling house with a mesmerizing garden...an enchanting landscape!
you are embracing this with all your heart...a spherical glass-jar with humble green and purple shrubs!

I would probably answer - daddy, you are not with me any more,
and the garden with splendour of gorgeous flowers has disappeared from my life with ebb of lost time!
all I can do, on my birthday, is find a mystifying Terrarium which caught my eye, in the supermarket,
and ponder about your love -

the green shrubs emanating lemon scent, and the emerald moss remind me of your strength, when I want to be protected;
the purple creepers shower me with uncoditional affection which never let me deviate from my true conviction -

and in my dream...in an unforgettable garden of my magical past …I am frolicking around, always,
surrounded by enchanting dahlias, and marigolds, and chrysanthemums!
