Temptation Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

Temptation

Temptation
It's hard to let go
Temptation
You grow and grow
Each time you get closer
It gets harder to say no
I want you more and more, dear
You're rotting my soul

Temptation
Just one little kiss
Temptation
It's the Devil's wish
They'll never know you held my hand
Temptation whispers to every human
Then the affair goes too far
As you make up the excuse you can't hide the clothes they wore

The greed, the gold, the luster so grand
You say to yourself what they don't notice and then
They catch you with the evidence on hand
You try to run but your caught my friend
Temptation
Your doom the Devil's plan
Temptation
Not expecting it comes again

Temptation
It's different for each of us
Temptation
It seems so innocent like mold and rust
But soon your car won't start
It was just one more drink at the bar
Next thing you know your paycheck is gone
You wake up in your own puke on the lawn

The nightmare, the curse, the agony
You're late for work or in jail not free
You felt you were cool but now you've been caught
What were you thinking, how could you have this thought
Temptation
It wins, you lose the game
Temptation
When you are caught, it won't take the blame
