Tears Of A Broken Man Poem by Lehlohonolo Selai

Tears Of A Broken Man

Time, you lousy being
Give me more of you I beg
Give me just enough to see her blink
Like she does in my dreams I beg

Time, you awful thief
Bring me back to what was
Or what you know could have been
Carry me to those delightful days

For no more do I in my suit
Need to drink anymore of my salty tears
A broken man, a hurtful beast
I live no better in pieces please

Time, surge to my aid at last
Lift this cloud of dissapointment away
So I may gaze upon the truth at last
A broken man, a hurtful beast I am

I drank enough from my eyes
Springs of shameful tears that flowed
While longing to twist the past
I am a broken man, with tears that flow

So time, who are you to stare
Who are you to judge the dirt I own
For now a journey awaits me I swear
In my pool of tears I shall sail
