Thank you Lord for being who you are,
your heavens shine brighter than a star
the love that you have given us
was paid, by your son on the cross.

when we are sad, you are there
there is no other who can care
like you dear lord, we want to live
to love, to care and to forgive.

you brought us through that trying hour
you kept us safe, with your love and power
you kept us calm when we were scared,
it is through your mercy, that we're not dead.

we prayed so hard, that horrible night
that you would keep us all alright.
your love has never felt so strong
dear lord you kept us from all harm.

we praise you Lord for the gift of life
we praise you for keeping us alive,
we praise you that we have faith in you,
to know our troubles, are handed over to you

Lord help us to forgive them,
to pray for them too
as their next victim might not be so blessed
and wont get a chance to say thank you to.

This is a lovely poem Lilo. Many of the POEMHUNTERS are spiritual people so I am sure it will be well received. Stanza one gets right to the heart of our faith - it's all about JESUS! In the next three stanzas you describe God's love and care for you in difficult circumstances. In stanza four you turn to praise, to God, for the gift of life, the sustenance of life, for our Faith and for bearing our burdens. The final stanza is very emotive. You pray for the spiritual power to forgive your adversaries and you also pray that they might mend their evil ways - awesome. Well done a poem of living faith. I scored it 9.

Yeah, you're true! You know I like the first line of the last verse of this poem. It's hard to forgive without God's help. Thanks for sharing to me this poem!
