Takshashila - Hindi Poem With English Translation

Koun Hai waha Moodha Mujhme?
Chipaa Huwaa kis kendra ke kis tuchha bindu main?
Eesha kaa waha bhadda saa attahaas kartaa,
Poochtaa, Kachotataa,
Takshashilaa kaa waha ehsaas gum huwaa kahaan?
Kitnee Nalandaa'on ke waksha cheer kar dekhoon?
Main Ram naheen jo Seeta ko khojoon.
Prem kee halaa, Das chukee hai Rooh kee Jwalaa,
Bankar saahitya,
Nason me meree san gayaa hai sarp kee tarah,
Wahee meraa lahoo,
Wahee meraa Khudaa,
Wahee meree Takshashila.

English Translation:

Who is that Eternal Moron in me?
Hiding in the center of an insignificant point?
Jibing me with the Eternals sarcasm,
Where did you loose the feel of Takshashila?
I am not Lord Ram, that I shall sear for Goddess Sita.
The Spirit of Love, has bitten my soul and it flames,
Turning into literature,
Like serpants it throbs in my veins,
That is my blood,
That is my God,
That is my Takshashila.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Takshashila if I remember correctly was a ancient university of Repute in India. Perhaps the worlds oldest University.
