Take Me Home Poem by Robbie Squires

Take Me Home

I ran in the woods late one night
Tryin to get away from the city light
Tripped and fell in an old mine shaft
In a layer of dirt the sun can’t pass

I was stuck in a hole; I was stuck in a well
No one knows where I am in the is earthy hell
I thought of my mom and I thought of my dad
The thought of my mom made me a little more sad
Oh Lord, take me home
Take me home

Take me home away from here
Away to a place where there is no fear
Take me home to my sapphire above
Where there is a push
But aint no shove

My old hometown of Lone Pine Hill
Where the water was calm and the wind stood still
Oh take me lord to my hometown
Oh take me to a place where I know I’ll be found

Take me to a place where I know my worth
To a perfect place where there is no earth
Where heavenly secrets drift in the sky
I’m already gone but I feel so alive
Take me lord, to my hometown
Golden gates above, but I’m in the ground
