Syria - You Can'T Be Syria's? (9/3/2012) Poem by Danny Draper

Syria - You Can'T Be Syria's? (9/3/2012)

Rating: 5.0

You can't be Syria's leader any more,
Spiritually bereft, ethically defunct,
power is not for killing your own.
There is no time left for tyranny,
consider instead this truth:
There is a fire within your countrymen
to this end you will be consumed,
There is no force strong enough
to stop the peoples will,
There is an innate human desire
to progress and live a better life,
There is no limit to their courage
to their sacrifice to build anew,
There is no hiding place on Earth
to conceal you from justice,
There is no act goes unnoticed
to the peoples of the world,
There is only perseverance
to realise our true course.

There are no borders
to the human spirit.

Does the title 'you can't be Syria's' have double sounds? Syria's sounds like serious? -Harrison

Very nice write and thought provoking piece. Alas, people tend to forget their roots and their origin and they would misuse their governing power, once it is given to them.

Hello Danny... This is yet again another well written piece which feels as if it could of been written from any corner of the world, aware of Syrias plight. You are so eloquent and get your point across so intelligently and with an air of dismay and disgust. Thank you for sharing. Karen I hope this works.., it keeps timing out :)
