Swallowing The Pain Away Poem by Invisible Poet

Swallowing The Pain Away

Tears fall, as I swallow the little pill,
Emptiness I don't know how to fill.

Waiting to feel the effect,
Instead I begin to reflect.

Maybe one more little one,
I know I am not done.

Pain, fear, and misery,
It never becomes history.

Down the hatch goes number three,
Maybe Ill finally be free.

After pill number four,
I get closer to the floor.

Imagine that knife sliding across my skin,
I know this is where I begin.

Vision becomes a blur,
Speech is now a slur.

Slowly the world begins to sway,
I smile while I finally fly away...

Hmm..been there before. The problem is when we return from our flight and all of our issues are still there. Best to fight it and receive help instead of fighting the battle where unfortunately you will never be claimed the victor. Sounds by your writing that you already know this. Nicely written.
