Cooking
reminds me of writing.
Can't really tell you, Susan,
how much prose, how many poems,
I've let stew
to the point that
the literary fire alarm
has sounded,
and sounded...
and sounded
It is a beautiful humourous poem nicely depicted. Enjoyed the delectable stew, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much, Kumarmani. So gratifying to hear the stew was delectable!
Your poetry, like so many others on this site, is making me hungry for more. So I read more. And sometimes, I get the urge to write a tribute poem. Another one worthy of 10, M.J.! Keep them coming!
Thank you, Richard! Yes, I have a few that are about ready...the next serving is maybe a few days off. Thanks again, Richard.
cooking reminds ME of food. i mean REAL food. but i just ate, so i'll finish writing this comment. i too have been inspired to write poems when writing a comment to someone's poem. WAIT! i hear an alarm going off somewhere. i'm gettin' out of here! bri :)
'how much prose, how many poems, I've let stew to the point that the literary fire alarm has sounded, ' loved this and the repitition of sounded, I feel the same way sometimes, stewing cooking in thoughts not expressed, poems crystal clear in the mind, but too tired to get up and write out; I'm cooking stewing in creative juices and I loved this poem.
Thank you, Terry! I, too, am stewing today. I find I need to go shopping for ingredients!

I would like to translate this poem
Hahhahahahahahahahahaha. This was humorous yes but you know what? It carried a clever message about writing as well! ! ! Letting it stew is something I should do more- -every time I post a poem I see a fault, a better word I could have used, a clumsiness of form... if I had waited for the piece to stew, I would have posted a better work. Sigh. [P.S. I'm b- a-c- k! ! ! ! I can now for the first time in weeks go to other people's pages and read their work and write comments about it : P ]
