Sunset Poem by Kevin Patrick

Sunset

Rating: 5.0

Sunsets casts, beyond our shores
And I know, that you must go
Departing now to twilights home
Like the rays on heavens moors

And my heart says farewell to
Sunsets of Love

The curtain draws on all birdsongs
And Junebugs scatter without encores
Leaving Cowslips in their throngs
To bid adieu to springs amore

And I know, you’re now a ghost
and what we have is sunsets song

By the brook were lovers meet
Lives the imprint of their retreat
Grass now grows around their form
And pulls a shadow of lost blooms

And my soul once beat two lives
And now it falls like sunsets arms

You were beautiful like a dream
That I kept as a pocket secret
But as we know all dreams must end
And all I have left is the sunset

I will rise to the setting sun
And I know that I will fall
Looking on to a memory
Of Sunsets
