Sunshine Garden Poem by Kevin Patrick

Sunshine Garden

Sunlight blossoms, on the river of sky blue
Birds are skipping and bumble bees are laughing
And I'm walking on a path, a smile bearing gold
Heading to the kingdom of my sunshine garden

Where the sun never sets and the evening glows
In the serpentine vines of evergreen splendor
And robins chirp in their merry choir's
Singing sweet songs like honey voiced nectar

And Im laying my feet, on a carpet of grass
Relaxing, with sunlight nestled onto my face
I feel roots of youth lull under my mind
Tugging a calm poise, to June's warm embrace

Free to unwind in a chapel of lime
Where flowers spread in a symphony of colour
From orange to amber, and flirtations of purple
My life is enchanted to the wines of summer

Living in my Eden, with fear left in the dark
My happiness is flying like a pollinating seed
Wandering with wanderlust in the orchid park
It feels as if I'm swimming in a halo of a dream

For joy is my drug when Im in my paradise
If laughter was a crime, I'd be last to want a pardon
So leave if you wish if you think happiness is sin
You’ll never find me crying in my sunshine garden
