Sunken Lore Poem by Dhananjaya Premawardena

Sunken Lore

Months of longing
Lies of loving
Withering in the shadows
a love forlorn by time

Waiting forever
in this curious endeavour
That no one seems
to understand this pantomime

A jewel to the eye
Enough to make one fly
A desire well worth
the waiting for

Through rain pouring
And thunder roaring
I wait for this treasure
More sacred than sunken lore
